Penny Dreadful is a freelance journalist and make-up artist based in Dublin.
She started MPD in 2009 as a means of 'imaginary shopping' for things she couldn't afford in her real student life! It also started as a showcase for her make-up skills and styles. The blog started to become popular and soon it spread to actual publications, radio and TV. Penny joined Independent Colleges in 2010 and has recently graduated with a masters in Journalism from the college in 2011.
She has written for the Dubliner magazine, THE magazine, The Social magazine, EQ magazine, Momentus magazine and worked on radio stations such as Near fm, Dublin City fm and Newstalk. While all this is going on, you can catch her writing about stuff she still can't afford on this blog!
The blog, which has changed a bit over the years has now reached the grand old age of three and is going strong with audiences from all over the world including New York, London and Dublin. It has an average of 1,500 - 2,000 visitors per day who tune in for gossip, scandal, stores, collections and events.
Penny has covered a range of events, worked with and covered collections from companies such as Brown Thomas, MAC, Kipling, Ray Ban, Chanel, Make-up Forever, Marks and Spencer, Triumph, Peter Pilotto, Harvey Nichols, Bare Minerals, Aromatherapy, Skin Science, Primark, Oasis, Vivienne Westwood, The Kooples and many more! Covering and reviewing any news, new products or launches over the past three years!
In 2011, Miss Penny Dreadful was voted one of the Top Five Fashion blogs in Ireland by her readers who also nominated her! Which was a lovely surprise!
As for the make-up? Well thats still going on! You can view her work on this blog as it still remains a showcase for her work.
